Εxpected results

The implementation of the project through the cooperation between the institutions will lead to the development of new innovative technological results with significant excellence in their individual fields, as their characteristics will be beyond the current technological weighting. More specifically, the following technological results are predicted:

  • MEMS pressure sensor compatible for use in oxygen and sterilization capability. This sensor will be integrated into the final device but in the future will be used in other applications for the development of innovative products in the field of medical gases and devices that need to be sterilized.
  • Smart algorithms that will allow the device to be customized in different cases. Such cases are the interruption of oxygen supply when the patient is absent or activated in his presence, the choice of different flow, the recording of total consumption and total costs. The algorithm development know-how will be applied directly to other products of the project operators as well as to future applications.
  • Energy Management Subsystem and Wireless Communication Subsystem. These subsystems will be integrated in the final device but will also be used in other products of the operators that require autonomous operation and wireless data transmission.
  • New innovative intelligent oxygen supply control system (prototype). This system, which is a global innovation, will be developed in collaboration with the two implementing bodies of the project, based on their know-how on the one hand in the field of MEMS sensors and integrated systems and on the other hand in the medical gas supply systems. The system will be a global innovation and will solve the chronic problem of misuse of oxygen in hospitals, resulting in a reduction in consumption of 25%. The smart system will allow the creation of a variety of new applications and services in the field of health by exploiting and utilizing the data that will be recorded.

In addition to the technological results through the project will be achieved:

  • Filing of patents and creation of copyright technologies. Designs will be developed in various technological fields (sensor, processing algorithms, subsystems) that will be the intellectual property of each entity, while at least one patent application is expected.
  • Enhancing the know-how of all actors in their fields of action through the implementation of the project and its collaborative completion. This know-how will be applied directly to other products of the institutions as well as to future developments.
  • The Partnership, through the project, will develop added value, creating strong structures of intellectual property and scientific excellence, creating fertile ground for further collaborations at both scientific - technological and commercial level, to proceed to the development and exploitation of new common high-tech products.
  • Creation of 4 new jobs during the execution of the project.
  • Upon completion of the project, the goal of the partnership is the industrialization of the prototype with the aim of mass production. The production line will be implemented in Greece and will be the first corresponding line. The direct result of this is not only the maintenance but also the increase of jobs for highly specialized personnel in the respective sectors and their prevention from looking for work outside Greece.
