Exploitation of results

All activities and actions related to the field of research and development of new and innovative products and / or services, and especially the utilization of their research results, have been shown to bring significant social and economic benefits. More specifically, applied research, technological development and advanced innovation are vital factors of social, but also economic development and prosperity through the solution of practical problems of the modern world. At the same time, the commercial utilization of the research results of a project, brings financial benefit both for the bodies themselves and for the end users. In conclusion, the state investment in the field of research and development is returned to the market itself and, above all, to society. The participating institutions intend to take advantage of and exploit its results, strengthening their extroversion, in compliance with the Cooperation and IPR Agreement to be signed during the EU1. The commercial development plan will be prepared in the last months of the project implementation and will include:

  • market analysis and potential applications
  • recording of competing products and their characteristics
  • evaluation of the performance and characteristics of the industrial prototypes of the project
  • product manufacturing plan
  • selection of specific purchases-applications and potential customers
  • promotion and marketing strategy
  • sales and distribution channels

G. SAMARAS, which will lead the effort to exploit the results, immediately after the completion of the project will proceed with own funds in the industrialization of both the overall prototype and its subsystems resulting in the creation of different products ready for commercial mass production. . It will work with ESS in this direction. The individual products will be:

  • New innovative energy management system based on Extreme Low Power technologies for the greatest possible autonomy that can be used in new applications and products.
  • Wireless data transmission system that will be a common platform for new systems in the form of plug n play in new applications based on the same communication protocols.
  • Oxygen Supply Control System: It is the main result of the project, the commercial exploitation of which will include the cooperation of all project operators. The mass production line and product adaptation will be implemented in Greece ( consortium development plan ), being the first corresponding line in the territory. It is expected to be a key product for the coming years that will address the global market in applications in the field of medicine. Initially, it will be used in a pilot phase to prove the superiority and added value of the system in relation to the competition. The size of the initial orders per customer is expected to be small, therefore manageable in terms of productivity. Subsequently, the production capacity will gradually increase, enabling the execution of increasing orders, covering the needs of the market.
  • The immediate economic and commercial utilization of the results of this project for the end user is considered to be the saving of significant energy through the reduction of the average oxygen consumption. This action implies the immediate saving of financial resources of the order of 15,000,000 € per year in Greece only. In Greece (11 million inhabitants, with 60,000 beds and 80,000 flowmeters), the cost of purchasing a flowmeter is 60 €, while the average lifespan is estimated at 5-10 years, depending on the use (considered consumable). It is therefore understood the need to develop a global application of a smart digital oxygen supply system, which will contribute to achieving these results with multidimensional social and economic.
